You need not be an expert to understand the content of the book. This book deals with practical everyday issues like shyness, anger etc, with appropriate illustrations. The book is well organized with a good flow. It also includes interesting activities and section summaries to make for more active learning. It can be a useful reference to a student of counseling as it proceeds from more general skills to those that apply to spec I find all Richard Nelson-Jones books to be written for the layman.
