We also appreciate those who take the time to thank the contributors for researching their books. I really would love to know the name of this as well. I remember it vividly as one of my favorite stories as a young child. I remember it had a lot of greens and browns when it comes to the coloration of it. That's about all I can add. I'm asking my dad and brothers if they remember it it. I have been looking for this book for a decade! I read it in middle school mids but it could have first been published years before then.
If I had to guess, I would say it was published in the 80s or early 90s. All I can remember is that it was an early reader chapter book about a trip to the moon I think the main character was a girl and I think that the trip was supposed to be a permanent move. I don't know if there were pictures, but when I look up key words online, all I get are non-fiction books or elementary picture books. It would mean so much if I could find this book! Im looking for a book that my techer read to me in grade 5 or 6 around ish? It looked like a novel and was full of short stories that had little mysteries in them with questions at the end that we had to solve together.
The one story I remember was of a little girl who was not allowed to go into her basement because her birthday present was there. She went in there and found her birthday bike then made a noise and heard her dad coming so she quickly turned off the light and ran upstairs and told her dad she wasnt down there.
I've been looking for a book for over 20 years now. I found it within five minutes on your site: The Treasure Is The Rose. This is a fond memory I have of my grandmother but was unable to find it among her books after she passed away. Thank you for helping to make the connection. Both books are from 70's to 80's. The first is about two girls that are best friends and not real popular. One of the girls loves the song At Seventeen by Janis Ian. The other is a girl that time travels through dreams. I know its not much to go on but its been over 25 years since I read them.
Would love to have my kids read them. Thank you for your time. I am looking for an old book I read from the school library arund - It was about a little boy or girl who posted a letter and it was taken by a small monster who was eaten by a larger monster who, in turn, was eaten by a larger monster It was well illustrated and I have no idea what it was called or the author.
It was republished in so hopefully it won't be too hard to find a copy. I'm looking for a book about a woman who is wearing a beautiful dress. She falls asleep and a rabbit comes and takes her hair comb. He takes it into a rabbit hole full of stars and constellations. This book also contains a story about a woman wearing a dress made of pockets where she keeps treats that she gives to children.
I'm looking for a children's novel fiction that was set in France. Anyway, the book was about a little French boy who was abandoned in a hotel by his uncle and who eventually found his own way home. He had a pet rat which he thought was a dog I think the rat's name was Papillon. The only other details about the story is an "elephant gun" and a strange looking man who was partially deaf. I'm not sure when the story was written, but I'd guess that it was 's or 's.
Looking for a Childhood Book? Here's How.
I'm trying to find this book that I loved in the 80s when I was a kid. It's about a king who is becoming sick, and may die. His subjects, who I seem to recall were animals, tell him stories to keep him alive while one animal makes a voyage to recover something to heal the king. Most of the book are the various stories that are told to the king, interspersed with updates on the progress of the animal's quest to return with healing.
I was thinking about this book the other day too! I can't remember the name but I googled my memory of the plot and your question came up. I think it might have had the word King in the title? But I'm not sure. Also I think the animal on the quest was a Rabbit, but again I'm not sure Have you looked at Thornton W. Here's the Wikipedia entry http: I am looking for a book of short stories from the 80's or 90's that were all about reading, books, or libraries.
I can remember some of the plots. One was about a little girl who goes to her library and discovers that she has gone back in time to what the library was like years ago. Another is about a library about to be closed down, and the books in it are alive. Another is about a girl finding her teenage brother a boyfriend when they are at the library.
I had a beloved book in the mid to late 50's. I don't think it was new but not sure. It was about a girl called Annabel Annabelle. The book was a larger bigger than a goldn book but thin hard covered book with her on the cover, in color, along with a trunk. I think it was in an attic. The doll has a trunk full of doll clothes and accessories.

It was published in the s and republished in I'm looking for another book i had as a little kid about minnie mouse and all these little ball germs? Unfortunately I do not know any of the title but I remember the content. The kitten proceeds to climb higher and higher until he gets to the roof top of the house. He proceeds to fall down the chimney where he gets dirty but is reunited with his family. The pictures of the kittens are photographs not illustrations if I remember correctly. I hope you can help!
I remember this children's book from the late 's. A large book with several short stories with illustrations. I can recall two stories. One was of a young girl who misunderstands her doctor's advice to get up an hour earlier every day and actually gets up an hour earlier each and every day to where she is up at 3 in the morning then 2 in the morning etc. The other was about a small boy who was never chosen for games who decided to put on layers of clothes to where he became an unknown large boy.
When participating in a race he can't run very fast so begins to shed his layers of clothes throughout the race, eventually winning but exposing himself as the original small boy. Thanks for any help you can provide. I also am looking for a children's story book from the s. I believe it was some type of series, which I always remember seeing in the doctor's waiting room.
The covers were a turquoise blue with some type of picture. The books were filled with short stories. The specific story I am looking for is about 2 children in a hospital ward. The first child tells the very sick little boy that Jesus comes through the ward each night looking for children to take home with him.
The sick little boy wants to go with Jesus, but never gets chosen. The other child tells him to raise his hand when he goes to sleep so that Jesus will notice him. But he is too weak to keep his hand up, so the first child props his arm up with a pillow. When morning comes, the sick little boy is dead. I'm trying to find a series of books that I used to read when I was in elementary school in the early to mid 90's. It was a mystery series about a preteen girl, blonde I think , who travled the world with her wealthy grandmother and always ended up finding a mystery to solve.
My favorite ones were when she travled to Holland and a French Chateau. Unfortunately, I can't remember her name, the author's name or really anything important like that.

Thanks to Anonymous who IDed this yesterday. It was bound in coarse brown hardback with a picture of the boy in the barrel on the dust jacket cover.
I read it in the late 70s - 80s. I'm looking for the book for the usual sentimental reason of having my son born and thinking back to my own wonderful childhood with books. When I was young, late 80's early 90's there was this book I used to read and all I can remember from it was that it had amazing colorful pictures. The people in the book were a Green people and it's not the book about about the tiny green people who steal. I think these people were at sea or something like that. The book you're looking for sounds similar to them although it has been a long time since I've read either of them.
This does not contain a link, so it is probably a real post, unless you are expecting Google to pick it up. Were you responding to a query? Post it again, using Reply. I had a set of about 5 large books in the mid 50's that seems to be named the Child's Books, or Child's World or something like that. I can't remember what was in the other volumns. The books were fairly tall but not thick. I'm looking for a series of books probably from the 60's or 70's that included a main character that had wings on his hat or shoes and they competed in Olympic type events in Rome.
I think he had a sidekick that was quite a bit larger than him. These aren't Greco-Roman mythological characters Download free textbooks online Early Education: Spanish ebook download SandBox Studies: Free books database download Can you see what I see?
