If the reader undertakes the reading of this book with an open mind, it will prove to expand the reader's understanding of the Scriptures, and forever change the way they study the Bible. The Bible will no longer be seen as two separate testaments but as one complete work with a central theme: God is always desiring to draw near to the creature, but how can the creature draw near to the Creator?

That is the question that this book so lovingly succeeds in answering. If this describes you, don't let this one go by the wayside! What else I appreciated about the book was that it's not full of Christianese and high falutin' religious jargon, yet plenty of Bible content to challenge the thinking of the highest degreed theologian. So how do we actually do that? This is a book that helps to answer that question.

Rosenquist has a unique and enjoyable writing style that is very easy to read and understand. I especially appreciated her sharing her own life experiences and struggles throughout the book, and her transparency in doing so. She has managed to present the Christian life in a refreshing and respectful way. Her explanations of first-century Israel helped to give me a much clearer insight into what Jesus meant and what He came to accomplish.

This has to be one of the most useful and thought-provoking books I have read in a long time. Useful, because what she has to say isn't just theory, it's all actually applicable to the daily walk of every Bible-believing person. One person found this helpful. In my humble opinion, this book is brilliant! If anyone, whether they are a new believer or have known the Lord for years, wants a clearer understanding of our biblical covenant this is a must read for them. It is told simplistically yet there are often very profound revelations Her ability to reveal the historical Mid-Eastern culture of the first believers in Jesus is outstanding!

I will reread this book! I purchased a hard copy after reading it on my kindle. This is the kind of book you want to always be able to get your hands on and possibly even study with a group of other interested people. What a great read with an abundance of insight into how the gospel was supposed to be lived and understood. I was able to get this for free, but after reading at least a third of the way through it, I would pay to have it again if I lost it.. Thank you for writing this and being willing to be a bridge of understanding. I strongly encourage anyone who is questioning their walk and need help making sense of the understanding of the scriptures.

Churches almost never teach history and are grossly ignorant of what the first century believers of Yeshua really did and proclaimed. We have been conditioned since our first day in sun-day school to believe a certain way and follow certain doctrines and traditions of men. Get this book and open your eyes. I absolutely love this book! I strongly recommend this book to those who are new to this walk of obedience, for those who have questions about what their friends and family are doing, for those who are seeking answers, and for those who have been on this walk for a long time!!

It has opened my eyes to things I didn't know. It has confirmed things that my Father has shown me. It has answered questions I was too afraid to ask. This book is an easy read that you will not want to put down! Tyler has shown us her heart and the heart of our Creator! This book said everything I wish I could say to family and friends, but with grace and mercy.

I have learned that these two attributes are a precious commodity for new Torah observant believers. I made some of the mistakes she mentioned. I saw myself on the pages, I gained humility where needed, developed renewed reverence for my eternal King, and a desire to be that set a part Bride, readying myself for my Righteous Bridegroom! Crossing Over: Getting to the Best Life Yet by Paul Scanlon

Some helpful practical teaching and insights from his own experiences which are readily transferable to many different contexts. However some shocking handling of the biblical texts really counts against this book. In theory the bible bits could be removed and the book would be no worse off.

Jan 18, Hansel rated it it was amazing. Have you ever felt "different"? Like there is something that burns you from inside when you see something not right. That means you are a carrier. You have a burden inside your heart about something that other people may not give so much care about.

This book told about how Paul Scanlon move from the old style into the new style he believe his church should be. From his perspective he told how the opposition that going on. The old cronies which against the change. They Have you ever felt "different"? They are not necessarily bad though. It just that they don't want to embrance the change to the future. Maybe because of their insecurity of their 'secure' position in the church. Paul Scanlon has good reflection on this. His message is applicable in any kind of organizations whom struggle to move forward.

When the leader is alone with his vision, without anyone seems care enough to fight together. He explained how we should bring the 'complaint' to the people, instead forcing them to follow our vision. When people felt the same 'complaint', they don't have to be pushed.

They will by them self fight for the vision. He also introduced "Brothering". Instead of looking for father figure, sometimes what leader need is brother. Someone who understand and share similar struggles. This opened up a whole new paradigm for me. I was so long looking for a father figure, only to found out that what I need is a brother figure.

Someone who can relate with my struggle, someone who has walk few steps ahead of me.
